Mapes of Millport has landed its second consecutive TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award, now named Traveller’s Choice. TripAdvisor is the world’s most popular travel review website and since 2011 have run their yearly Certificate of Excellence awards to honour businesses who deliver consistently great service. Mapes of Millport was only added to TripAdvisor in 2018
Certificate of Excellence awards are given to approximately 10% of the businesses listed on TripAdvisor who have consistently achieved great reviews over the previous year. A minimum review criteria and a rating of at least four out of five are required to be eligible. Then an algorithm then takes into account the quality, quantity and recency of user reviews to allocate the winners.
Scott Ferris, Owner of Mapes of Millport, was naturally delighted with the continued recognition. He said: “I’m obviously very pleased to have again received this award from TripAdvisor and we’ll proudly be displaying it online and around the shop.
“Everyone knows how big a part TripAdvisor play in decision making – on where to go or what to do – so having this stamp of approval can only further reassure visitors that they can expect excellent standards when visiting us.
“We are also number one of things to do in Cumbrae which is also a great accolade.
Mapes of Millport has become familiar with receiving awards in recent years, winning Best Traditional Toy & Bikes Shop Scotland 2019 by the Ecommerce and Online Retail & Best Bicycle hire shop Argyle & Bute 2020 through the 2020 UK Transport Awards.
Scott concluded: “We’ve been making a bit of a habit of receiving awards like this and over a period of a few years now. That goes to show that we’re not resting on our laurels and are continuing to deliver excellent expereince to our visitors. The team here deserve a huge amount of credit for maintaining such high standards.”
